I have known from a young age that I wanted to work with babies. I am the oldest of 5 and have always been surrounded by babies and children. Little did I know that my own experiences would encourage me to help and serve mothers one day! After having complications in my first pregnancy, incompetent cervix at 19 weeks, a premature labor scare at 25 weeks, and finally, a cesarean birth at 33 weeks, I was able to advocate for myself in my future pregnancies and have 4 successful VBACs. Pregnancy was always a journey for me... my husband and I have held 5 babies and said "see you soon" to 2 precious souls.
I knew I wanted my daughters, their friends, and other mommas I know to have a different experience than I had. I just did not know what that would look like. With homeschooling coming to an end in a few years, friends encouraged me to look into doula work. I immediately jumped in during the chaos of 2020 while the world was changing rapidly. From birth doula, to midwife assistant, to student midwife for a season, back to birth and postpartum doula... it has been a blessing and honor to witness the strength and vulnerability of mothers during such a holy moment. I am truly thankful.
I am a daughter of the King. A wife to my high school sweetheart. A momma to 3 girls and 2 boys and all of their loves... And an Aubie to my 2 precious grand-girls! My family brings me joy! When we are not together, I typically have an open door... I am either hosting bible study, having theological discussions with my dearest friends over coffee or lunch, reading a book, arranging flowers for Tate Petals, or traveling with my husband. It is such a sweet season and a time to see what the Lord will have me do to serve mommas in such a beautiful way. For His Glory!
